School History

Opened in 1928, Poe has been at the center of the Boulevard Oaks, Southampton, and Neartown communities for thousands of students and their families. As we approach our centennial celebration, the Poe community continues to maintain a proud history of success, both in and out of the classroom, in the performing and visual arts, and in all other endeavors that our students take on while attending this storied institution. The love of lifelong learning taught by expression in the Fine Arts and through the rigorous and inquiry-based lens of the IB Primary Years Programme that students experience daily is critical to the future of our young Ravens, now, just as it has been since 1928. We have been here for nearly 100 years, and will be here between Hazard and Wilton for 100 more!
